Gulmit is located in the upper Hunza valley, it is the most beautiful village of  Hunza valley. It offers beautiful and spectacular short walks to Kamaris, Andhra Fort as well as to the neighboring village of Ghulkin, and long walks over the Ghulkin glacier to Borith lake. At Gulmit, the Hunza valley river can be crossed over a traditional suspension bridge which leads to Shishkat. Passu and Batura glaciers are located at a distance of only twelve kilometers. The Gulmit museum, full of traditional ethnic artifacts is part of the Marcopolo Inn. Local festivals are celebrated seasonally within the village. with traditional musicians and dancers. Jeeps can be hired for a day trip to the Khunjerab National Park Hunza valley where Maracopolo sheep can be viewed.

Gulmit offers beautiful and spectacular short walks to beautiful places of upper Hunza valley like  Kamris, Andhra, and Gulkin as well as long walks over the Gulkin glacier to Borith Lake.
